P2P F2F Using USB OTG

Let me break it down for those who need help: Peer to Peer Face to Face Using Universal Serial Bus On-The-Go. wheew… USB on-the-go is basically a way for two USB devices to communicate without the use of a computer. We are starting to see more and more devices, especially MP3 Players with this functionality. When we see the ubiquity of this feature it will breed a new type of P2P file sharing F2F.

There have been many times where I wanted to share music with a friend OTS (On The Spot, ok I’m getting carried away with the acronyms). But it’s virtually impossible to without the use of a computer. With USB OTG you could simply connect your two players together and swap music in a matter of seconds. Now imagine you are a young urban professional on your way to work, you sit down next to someone on the underground who also has a player. You now exchange small talk as well as music. Entire social P2P networks would be created at high schools and universities all across the world. Since the P2P network would be the schools themselves I would love to see RIAA try to shut them down.
