We just did a review on this last week and the verdict was that it is a very nice player. It was disappointing to our US readers that it wasn’t available in the states, until now.
Walmart is now selling the MobiBLU DAH-1500 in six different colors and two different sizes: 512MB and 1GB. It is also price right inline with the iPod Shuffle, $99.72 and $129.72 respectively. New to this version is DRM support, but it only mentions that that it works with Walmart downloads. Read the MobiBLU DAH-1500 review and pick one up.

Sorry for not mailing this instead, my mail server is down at the moment.mobiBLU has to my knowledge, 4 models of the DAH-1500. One is the original, DAH-1500. Another is the Eurasia version (selling under a different name), then the DAH-1500s, and the DAH-1500i.The original DAH-1500 would be the model you reviewed earler (20hr battery life, no DRM support). If you take a look at the one sold at Wal-Mart, you will notice that the specs show it has only 10hr battery life, with DRM support. Apparently though, the one sold at Wal-Mart has a lower quality FM Tuner. The DAH-1500s on the other hand, does NOT have an FM Tuner. Along with no DRM support. The DAH-1500 will most likely never be sold retail, or through any major large American online stores (walmart, bestbuy, etc.) due to it’s lack of DRM support… (apparently that’s a large issue?).–You will most likely NOT be able to find any information about the “i” and “s” model, as this is apparently just a method for HyunWon/mobiBLU to help identify the different models of the DAH-1500.

I don’t think the lack of DRM is a barrier to entry in the US market. My iRiver iHP-140 lacks DRM support (and so does the 3xx series, I believe) but you can buy them here.

I bough a DAH 1500S from The source by circuit city. I was very pleased with it and it worked great until now… I plugged it into a different USB port (besides the one at my house). After a couple of hours I picked it up to listen to it and it was extremely hot. I guess it overheated and now it won’t work at all (It won’t turn on). Any idea of what happened? Many thanks
