Creative Zen Sleek Available at Best Buy

zen-sleek-bb.jpg

I went into my local Best Buy yesterday for something to blow my hard earned cash on something cool and I stumbled across the Zen Sleek selling for $250. I had to resist though, because I need another MP3 player like I need another hole in my head. So I passed it up and left with some more hard drive space instead. Who knows, I may break down and go back tomorrow.

However, I would like to express how disgust with Best Buy’s electronics displays. The whole point of displaying electronic items is so that customers can feel them, hold them in their hand and test drive them. But, every time I go to any Best Buy the displays are always destroyed, missing, non functional or they are displaying the fake plastic model. Also to mention, the security device tethered to the counter, attached to the back of the device, is sometimes bigger than the device itself! But my point is that they would sell more devices if they displays where in better shape. Ok… I’m done, that’s my rant for the day.

Yep, as a fellow blue shirt here, Ive had them in stock for about a week now. Nice little player, but that doesnt seem to help from customers not wanting to buy them, so hard to stop the Ipod bandwagon.

Bought one at Best Buy yesterday. My quick, maybe not-so-lucid, take:Pros so far: Sound quality, Size, Brushed alum finish, Touch pad is way improved (sensitivity-wise and in its use to control volume), Customizable menus (like iPod), WMP10 ready (don’t need to install Creative software at all).Cons so far: Hold switch is a little too flat for my stubby, fingernail bitten fingers. Could be raised a little more. This may be personal and not necessarily everyone’s opinion.Overall, improved over my 40gb Touch and on par with my iPod, H120, H10, Karma (yes, I have more DAPs than I need) I haven’t used the Sleek enough to offer a more authoritative viewpoint.

Oh, I forgot one thing for the unitiated. The BB website indicates, twice, that the battery is not included! Obviously it is as it is non-removable.
