Microsoft to Step into the MP3 Player Market

Microsoft will be working with Philips, Creative, and Samsung to help them produce devices that will “compete with Apple in industrial design, usability, functionality and features.” These devices will be expected to be released this fall.

It’s nice to see Microsoft use its muscle to rock the iPod boat. Weather or not it will work its uncertain, but they will keep trying and they will keep throwing their billions at this project. At the same time a Microsoft monopoly would be just as bad as the iPod monopoly in the digital audio player world.
