Cowon iAudio U3 Specs

cowon-iaudio-u3.jpg

Cowon’s new iAudio U3 has popped up on the official Korean Cowon site. The player supports a bunch of audio, video, and photo file formats which include: MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, Xvid, JPG, PNG, BMP, and TXT. Most notably is the support for FLAC coded which is rarely if ever seen in a flash based MP3 player. Add to it your standard features such as FM radio, voice recording, EQ, clock, USB 2.0 and line-in recording to a nice compact 31.5 X 72 X 18 mm and you will get what looks to be a pretty nice player. Price and availability are unknown at the moment. We’ll keep you posted.

Nice that it supports Ogg (or “OGG”, but why shout?); I wonder what bitrate. A problem with many players is a limit of ~128kbps, which is too low for me.

Isn’t that wrong? Ogg is a container not a codec. Do they mean Vorbis?
