Creative Zen Vision M 60GB or 80GB Coming Soon?

zen-vision-m-dock.jpg

Update: The 60GB Zen Vision:M is available at Amazon.

Creative has planned ahead for the release of a thicker Vision:M, with a larger hard drive. These versions could possibly be 60GB or 80GB in capacity. Take a look at the manual included with the Zen Vision:M Dock. It says, “Your Zen Vision:M may come in different capacities and sizes …” Then pull the insert out and the insert and the bottom is tagged with the capacity size. 30GB just does not cut it for some of us digital media packrats, so this would be a welcome edition to the Creative Zen line up.

at 18mm it was originally, is just thin enough without being too thick.any thicker and i wouldnt want it.but WHY is it 7mm thicker than the 30gb ipod video?

Chahk on February 17, 2006 11:15 AM

“but WHY is it 7mm thicker than the 30gb ipod video?”Who knows. Probably due to built-in features such as Microphone and FM tuner that are not in the iPod. But to really know for sure we’ll just have to wait until some brave soul takes their ZVM apart and posts the pictures :)

Mikael on February 19, 2006 12:54 AM

I think that it is more comfortable to hold than the G5 IPOD 30gb. BEACUSE of the extra 7mm…But thats just me. I agree though that it would be far to chunky if it got any thicker, though haveing an 80gb. version would be cool!

Cedric on February 21, 2006 4:19 AM

If your really look at the picture closely you can see that is write 30Go NOT 80Go lol

JYap on February 22, 2006 11:57 AM

Yeh. it’s 30GB. and it’s 30GB Because, u will need that thing when attaching a 30GB.remove it when u are attaching the 60 or 80GB.:D

jason on February 22, 2006 3:51 PM

cedric – of course it says 30gb. re-read the article.

Plasmar on April 8, 2006 12:37 PM

I was thinking about it then it came to me…. could the sizer not be for the normal Zen Vision…. cause the normal one is hell of alot bigger:P

Nathan on April 13, 2006 9:56 AM

I just ordered a Vision M from Wal-Mart. Should I have waited (since I have about 23 GBs of music, and wanted to put all my DVDs on it as well) for one of these bigger sizes? Is there an estimated release date?

Ricardo on April 19, 2006 2:08 PM

can i update or change the 30gb disk for one like 60gb. there are space inside to made this?

Quank on April 21, 2006 11:47 PM

Perhaps it is thicker because the battery is bigger (hence the longer battery life)?

Someone Who Knows on July 3, 2006 12:41 PM

Actually if you would look for just 3 seconds on Google you would see that it’s thicker than the ipod because while the Zen Vision:M uses a 2.5″ hard disk the ipod G5, G4, and even G3 use a 1.8″ hard disk. Creative could use these, but it would increase player cost dramatically

Someone who knows on July 3, 2006 12:44 PM

OK, scratch that, I’m an idiot, yes, the vision:m uses a 1.8″ hard disk.Shame shame on me

james on July 5, 2006 9:51 PM

ohhhhh… i want a 60gig ZVM. PLEASE, ANYONE, let me know if you have any info of these coming out!! I want to know!!

mars on July 27, 2006 9:22 PM

Hrmm… from the recent postings, it looks like they use the same relative size hard drive… anyone know if you can put a 60gb ipod hard drive into the creative vision m player??? if so, I think its definitely worth the try! Any responses would be greatly arppeciated :)

johanie on July 29, 2006 5:02 AM

Why is it my creative micro cannot play. and everytime turn on, it says that erasing firmware and it shuts down..How can I fix the firmware or How can I turn it on again and back to normal. Please help.

czanchez on July 31, 2006 12:11 AM

putting a 60gb in a ZVM is not as clean as it was with the older players because the 60gb 1.8 is physically thicker than the 30gb 1.8 (or so i’m told) so it would be a dirty fix, and I also don’t think it would be economically worth doing the upgrade, it would be cheaper to buy the 60, or 80 when it comes out.

Bruce Kay on August 1, 2006 1:51 PM

Has anyone heard whether creative will be coming out soon with it’s 60gb zen vision m or not?. Wondering whether I should just buy the 60gb ipod or toshiba’s new gigabeat or wait for creative to get off their butts and compete rather than sue the big boys. Would love a 60gb zen vision. Bigger is better.

Art Nunez on August 18, 2006 12:08 AM

hahaha, I’m thinking of buying Vision M and in general its PLENTY enough for me. Tooo many people complain on having the “best” (newest productas) and don’t realize how thankful they should be for all the features Vision M requires. I mean honestly how many songs do you listen to in a day anyways huh? And if you have the time to organize your songs and pick over thousands of songs on your PC to Vision M, then surley you should be fine with changing your collection occasionally. And its not even like you would anyways, how retarded would you have to be to not be satisfied with 15,000 SONGS!! your all too spoiled…..

^XVirusX^ on August 18, 2006 9:30 AM

LoL… 15000 songs? Unless you use gay WMA @ 64kb/s… then MAYBE yes, you’d be spoiled with so much space. Unlike some, I use only MP3 formats from 192 – 320kb/s so my smaller collection compared to 15000 songs, is only 5000 songs and yet it takes up 26.5 GB.Moreover… 30GB is not going to be 30GB according to windows (old manufacturing rule of how large a kilo/mega/gigabyte is). The usable amount that you would get is approximately 28.6 not even including the software already loaded onto the player. So it safe to say you can drop that number to about 28.5GB. That leaves me with 2GB of free data that I can use for anything else, probably video. Obviously, that’s way too small.LoL… if my MP3 collection grows any further, I’ll just have an MP3 player and not a video player. -This is just my story, I know many others have the same dilema. That’s why we complain about it so much. We’re not all spoiled with 15000 songs.

Afro on August 24, 2006 11:40 AM

I have asked my MP3 dealer in Dubai, U.A.E., where I bought my Zen Vision: M 30 GB, if a Zen Vision: M with more capacity would be released. His answer was: Yes, its capacity will be 60 GB, its size will be thinner than the former 30 GB version, and its colour will be black. It will be released within a month or two.

finn on August 30, 2006 7:43 PM

i saw an ad for creative players in blender magazine (new issue) that said on the bottom of the page : zen vision m in 30 and 60 GB. hope this gives y’all some hope it will be released soon!

jonnieq on September 1, 2006 5:30 AM

Creative have issued an official press release today, launcing the 60GB version which will also support direct transfer from digital cameras, without the need for a pc. See their website

richard on September 3, 2006 6:24 AM

i bought my 30gb from best buy and after the sale price, and the match-price, and the 12% labor-day coupon, and the $10.00 best-buy reward program (and all this during 3 separate trips in one week to best buy) and i find out today that there will be a 60 gb model in a month. i love this thing but i just can’t see myself returning it now for the 60 gb. so i will get the 60gb as well. the 30gb cost me $200.00. i wonder what the 60gb will go for?

informer on September 3, 2006 2:52 PM

it finally came check the creative website

informer on September 3, 2006 2:56 PM

finn on September 7, 2006 9:42 PM

found this on a creative web site. not sure what country but this should give you a clue as to the size of the new 60GB vision m:Size: 30GB – 104 x 62 x 18.6mm60GB – 104 x 62 x 22.1mmalso they upped the playback time for the 60GB:30GB- 14 hours audio and 4 hours video60GB- 16 hours audio and 5 hours video

Keith Shannon on September 11, 2006 11:45 PM

I wonder if you couldn’t just buy a new and bigger hard drive and put it into the mp3 player…if only the government paid me more money I’d take a risk and try to find out.

Nick Poto(Littlepoto) on September 12, 2006 11:09 PM

Whens the 80GB vision m coming, apples has already introduced their 80GB, but apple sucks so i will just be waiting on Vision M 80GB release date.

roller-boy on September 13, 2006 5:30 AM

it will be just in black & white color and it will be just a little bit big if you compare with the 30gb and its true!!!….the playback time it will be 5 hours for video & 16 for hours for the music and that shit about the 80gb its totally shit!!!…..those persons are crazy we need to waite until 10 months more because of the 60gb thats its coming soon before december comes maybe we can buy it in octuber first we dont know…….. so dont worry it will come!!!

kay-jay on September 13, 2006 6:25 PM

Shopstation.com and JR’s listing the 60gb at $399. Seems like a price break on the 30gb. The are now closer to $250.

Nick Poto(Littlepoto) on September 13, 2006 9:13 PM

I could probaly fill up an 80 GB in a week, cause i already have around 38GB of music on a 40 GB zen Touch, and i could easily fill up the rest of an 80GB zen vision m in around a week. I am going to put DVD movies and tv shows on it right when i get the 80GB vision. The 60GB is too small, and if the 80GB doesnt come out within the next 1-2 months im gonna have to go with the 80GB apple ipod. I am not waiting 10 months. Will it come out within tthe next 2 months. I may wait 3 if i can guruntee that i get it by the end of 3. WILL THE 80GB CREATIVE ZEN VISION M COME OUT WITHIN THE NEXT 2 MONTHS????????????????????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rich Lanthier on September 21, 2006 6:19 PM

I heard from Creative support that there is no release date set for the 60GB VIsionM in the US. THey said to keep checking back. Why the mystery?

Michel Perry on September 28, 2006 5:12 PM

Talked to Creative USA today and the Vision:M 60GB is set for release the first or second week of THIS October, FINALLY

Jordan Hillwig on September 28, 2006 9:22 PM

Sweet!!…I was oout looking today for a video/mp3…and decided that i was down to the ipod 60. or 80. or the creative 30….I really like the Creative, b/c of the FM tuner/ Voice recorder/ Brighter screen than iPod 60… if only it had a little more battery life, but no biggy.I found it at the JR site pre-ordering for 299!!http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product_Id=4131140&JRSource=googlebase.datafeed.CLN+ZVM60GBBK

I’m really interested with the 60GB and 80GB zen vision, but I hear that they are coming out with a even newer version with a touch screen, wifi, and maybe even bluetooth. Is this true? If so when are they coming out?

Troy Carpenter on April 12, 2010 11:29 AM

I have a 60 GB Zen Vision M black for sale nothing wrong with it, just email me at mketroy at gmail dot com and we can figure out how to do the transfer want like 75.00 for it. Nothing wrong with it, up graded the firmware and reformatted it works great.
