Here’s another inexpensive DAP from China that’s filled to the brim with features. For $50, the 512MB Ainol V3 offers MP3/WMA/WAV/Ogg audio support, an FM radio, text reader, USB 2.0 interface, and expandability with miniSD cards. The miniscule 1.3-inch screen won’t provide a particularly enjoyable video experience (AMV only), especially given its 160 x 128 resolution, but a 260K-color TFT is great for viewing JPG/BMP/GIF photos. The included lithium battery is user-replaceable and can power the player for up to 8 hours.
The V3 measures 2.36″ x 1.29″ x 0.51″ and comes in white, black, and pink. A 1GB model is also available (for import, of course) for $69.

How cheap can mp3 get? 50 for 512? Next year 25 for 1 gig?

Clock radio’s are $10 and 10 times the size. In a few years MP3 players will be hanging on the checkout rack at Wal-Mart with the candy bars and be completely disposable.

Why didn’t any Chinese person ask what the word “Ainol” meant when spoken in English?

LOL, it’s not what it looks like. “Ai” is pronounced “eye.”

I picked up a fake nano in Shenzhen for US$35. 8GB and more features than the original. It has crashed a couple of times but is fine after a reboot. Incredible value makes you wonder how cheaply they can produce these things.
