Next month, Directed Electronics will release its gorgeous Soloist Universal Media Dock. The system is actually designed for use with various models of SIRIUS satellite radio receivers, including their current Sportster 4 device, so the “universal” part refers to the built-in auxiliary input jack on the side of the unit. Non-docked players can’t reap all the benefits the Soloist has to offer, of course, but who needs charging and USB transfer capabilities when you’ve got NXT SurfaceSound flat-panel speakers and a Tripath amplifier boasting 10W per channel? To top it off, there’s even a built-in alarm clock, headphone jack, and infrared remote control.
The Soloist Universal Media Dock will retail for $150.
