MobiBLU Cube 2 Now Available in the US

black cube2 MobiBLU Cube 2 Now Available in the US

For those who like their MP3 players tiny, MobiBLU is now selling the second generation DAH-1500i, dubbed appropriately the Cube 2. Still the same size as the last generation, the Cube 2 offers smoother styling and a few more features. This time with a color screen that has the ability to playback photos and video. But really, how appealing is video on a half inch 65k color OLED screen? Additionally the cube is PlaysForSure ready as well as PodcastReady, playing back MP3 and WMA.

The player is available now for purchase on MobiBLU’s website for $100 for the 1GB version and $120 for the 2GB version. It is also available at Amazon with free shipping MobiBLU Cube 2 Now Available in the US.

You can also pre-order the Cube2 at amazon.com, which offers free shipping and does not charge sales tax (unless you live in Washington state). However, you’ll have to wait until amazon.com has the Cube2 in stock. MobiBLU’s website will charge you sales tax and shipping costs.

Correction to my previous post: Amazon.com currently charges sales tax in 4 states: Washington, Kansas, Kentucky, and North Dakota

Wow, this DAP was officially released back in May of this year. Wonder why it took 6 months to get here?

Does it offer *actual* support for the Macintosh? Like the original Cube, it lists it as Mac compatible, but I don’t see any Mac software on the download page. I’d hate to put down $200 and within a month have it dead (and unfixable via a Mac.)

any word if its possible to change the battery and if they use a standard (available) type or something special ?

Seamus on October 16, 2006 10:10 AM

MacUser, you just drag and drop like the old cube – no software necessary.

If anyone knows where I could see a review of this, that would be swell.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if this Cube2 has the same software flaws the DAH 1500i had, like freezing, having problems turning it on and some other weird stuff… plz =) If any of you own one, is it working fine for you? plz, let me know, I want one of these, but If it has the same problems the older models had, I think ill have to check other options =SThanks for your help!

JohnP on February 4, 2007 11:59 PM

I mean, not software flaws, but *firmware* flaws, you know the DAH1500/1500i was a little unstable. Well, let me know if the Cube2 has no problems with the firmware. Thank you. =)

I bought the 1st version of DAH1500i and used it for 2 months then it just went dead on me and I don’t know what happened to it. I wanted to get the cube 2 but I’m now skeptical on how long it’s going to last.

My new cube2 comes with firmware v1016, but the website only offers 1014. Weird.

This is my second email i sent out to mobiblu, stil had no reply and i find more and more problems the longer i have this player!so far my problems are,1, when recording, every 5 seconds it stops then continues, leaving a slight part of the recording MISSING every 5 seconds.2, every time the music folder starts, it starts half way through the album, even though all the tracks are numbered.3, will not turn on correctly, the button has to be pushed and held, then done for a second time.4, overall disappointment as the dah1500 (not the 1500i) over all had better sound quality, was easier to use and the firm ware was a lot better.shame coz i loved my last purchase but so far im confused to why this player is worse even tho the software is better and the fact that they havnt even corrected these bugs and put new firmware up, as i too have v1016! my advice is wait till the price comes down and theres a newer version of the firmware posted!
