Microsoft Readies Flash-Based Zune for Q4

There isn’t much to go by in terms of specifics, but Zune marketing chief Chris Stephenson mentioned this weekend that other Zune players will be making an appearance in stores by year’s end. He mentioned a flash-based version and a “truly WiFi-enabled device,” but there’s no indication that one has anything to do with the other.

Expect a slew of rumors, concept photos, and supposedly “leaked” images to crop up all over the Web soon. Good thing, too, as folks who’ve been riding the Apple rumormill for the past few years are probably just twiddling their thumbs these days.

They should have gone after the Nano market in the first place. I would be all over a flash nano sized mp3 player that had wi-fi, with the killer app being it would auto download podcasts when im at work, so I have them when I go home. Its going to be a fun year, cant wait to see all the wi-fi devices come out..
