Japan-based Aska’s upcoming Tripper V series may be targeted at photographers, but its sizable hard drive (up to 160GB), SD and Compact Flash slots, and 4.3″ LCD (800 x 480) could easily be a dream come true for PMP hounds. All four versions of the Tripper (40GB, 60GB, 120GB, 160GB) measure 6″ long and 3″ high and have USB 2.0 and A/V-out ports. Codec support includes MPEG4 for videos, MP3 and AAC for audio, and JPG and RAW (Fuji, Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, and Kodak) for photos.
Prices are unfortunately pretty steep, falling between the $340 and $680 range, but it probably doesn’t matter unless you live in Japan. Because beginning in a few weeks, if you’re not there, you can’t get one anyway.

Haha, that’s ridiculous. In Germany Tripper means Gonorrhoea. Naming a PMP after a sexual disease… great.

sounds like something Japan would do.
