Sony S730 Firmware 1.11 Released

avatar Sony S730 Firmware 1.11 Released

Normally, Sony players ship with firmware 1.00 and stays that way and it’s a surprise to see Sony issue an update for the new S730 series. The changelog got “lost in translation” (or rather production) as the update page says nothing about what is actually changed in FW 1.11. Sony don’t normally (or ever) add functionality to their players post-release though so it’s most likely just a few stability fixes. If you have one of these, it might be worth the update, but unless you’ve had trouble with the player you probably won’t gain anything from it.

Update: Seems this has been out for a while

“The changelog got “lost in translation” (or rather production) as the update page says nothing about what is actually changed in FW 1.11″Actually it’s not…ImprovementsWith the above products, customers may experience the following symptoms. The symptoms will be fixed with this firmware update. When playing any music files, sometimes the units cannot be operated and may turn off and on automatically.
