Generally when charging a battery it takes about 150% of the capacity of the battery to charge it, according to a number of manufacturer's websites. That being so you might want to re-do your calculation on how many charges you can get from this.Barry

Fiio P3 is another device like this, uses two AA NiMH cells and can recharge them from a wall socket, or can use them to recharge a DAP through a USB port. I think it can also recharge the AA's through USB. I don't have one yet but will order one when Dealextreme gets them back in stock. Some other stores have them too.

http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/nl/nl/consumer/cc/_categoryid_UNIVERSAL_POWER_SOLUTIONS_SU_NL_CONSUMER/#filterState=SURGE_PROTECTORS_SU_NL_CONSUMER%3DfalseGreat options from Philips also, same price and same drawbacks (draining). The one i own is quite a bit smaller than the callpod though, information on mAh's on their website.Their design has won prices btw, and I'm happy with mine!

Perhaps a better choice would be the Sanyo Eneloop Mobile USB Booster. This device has a higher capacity 5000mAh Lithium Ion battery, no proprietary connectors and is currently $10 cheaper at Amazon. It is not as pretty, and all of these seem to have the problem of consuming power as long as the device to be charged is plugged in. I have been quite happy with mine.
