One of the nice things about the Zune is it has lots of third party cases and accessories. One of the case lines we review often is the Tuff-Luv by I-Nique. Typically they are just below the quality of Noreve cases with a price to reflect that, but does usually have a few other design elements that set it apart. So to some the Tuff-Luv might give you a better bang for the buck.
Over the last year I have seen improvements in the quality of stitching and fit of the I-Nique brand. Though there is one thing that always bothers me about the fit common to many of the device cases. The surrounding leather near the open end of the player bows out and this can sometimes obstruct the view of the screen. Like Noreve, there needs to be more rigidity in the front facing leather panel so that it stays more flat to the front of the player.
The case does have an oval good fit. The player doesn’t slide around and buttons are easily accessible. What really does this case justice is time to be broken in. As you use it, it will better mold and fit to the player- much like a pair of new sneakers.
The case comes with a carabineer clip, nice for clipping it to your bag or belt loop. Relatively new for I-Nique is the “Wrap-M” cable wrap that attaches to the back of the player. Your mileage may vary depending on the headphones you use due to thickness of the cable, but it’s really nice to have that extra.
I-Nique made a stress test video which is very interesting that demonstrates how well their cases are built and what a great material leather is for a case.
In the end it’s another solid I-Nique case at a nice price- typically between $30-40. The Zune HD case sells for $36 on Amazon. There are also a few other cases I-Nique makes for the Zune HD, you can check them out on their site.
