So, Yeah…

Grahm, the editor of ABI, today saw this video I shot some time ago. He told me to post it on the front page. It’s shot with the nifty EOS MovRec tool on my Canon EOS 40D. It’s basically pixel perfect – what you see is what you get. You know what it’s about.

why is the screen all static-y? i cant tell whats going on…

Martin Sägmüller on February 9, 2011 10:23 PM

It’s a monochrome OLED screen. The pixels are either on or off – nothing in between.

Temporal dithering only works on LCD screens. If you try it on an OLED the response time is so fast you just get snow instead of grayscale pixels.

It looks like someone is playing some sort of fps (Doom?) on the device. Pretty cool.

I want a Canon badly. :(

Doom: It runs on everything.

It’d be neat if it ran upside down, where the yellow pixels were across the status bar.

oh now i get it…. lol doom must use very little resources.. xD

WOW! I thought playing doom on a rockboxed clip was just a running joke.

I love it… from a completely asinine sense.

That is really cool.
