Hey, put me down for this contest!!!

Roger on April 29, 2011 4:25 PM

What about those of us who refuse to use Facebook for privacy reasons? I have a gen1 Fuze that is on its last legs.

My impression of the market is that the rate of new dedicated products being released has drastically slowed down. Every smartphone and most feature phones are a usually mediocre music player so the dedicated market must be shrinking.

What I really want is something with the Fuze+ battery life in the form factor if the Clip+ (without the extra plastic moulding) but with the Fuze features (browse by folder).

Yes, some of us are anti-Facebook…what about us?

Learn to “Like” Facebook – or suffer the consequences,…

I’m with Roger & Marvin on this one. I dumped FB a year ago and haven’t missed it a bit.

I see a lot of these contests run this way and would like to enter, but refuse to whore my identity out to do it.

Since ABI is sort of about not following the mindless herd of music-listeners and aspiring to find something better, I find it a bit ironic that it’s assumed everyone here has a FB account.

I expect more from the intelligent and thinking posters and readers here than to mindlessly follow the social networking herd. Maybe we need a ABFB site?

We run many contests not in Facebook, just trying to cover all the bases.

here is one at NBT: http://www.nothingbuttablets.com/1792

At those complaining about the contest being through Facebook you obviously don’t understand the reason that ABi (and other sites) do these contests. ABi isn’t giving away hardware for nothing, they want the contestants to advertise for them. Facebook is a good and easy way to promote their site and keep track of who is “entering” the contest.

So if you don’t want to advertise for ABi the way this contest wants you to then don’t enter the contest.

Leif on April 29, 2011 8:19 PM

I understand that ABi wants to advertise via FB, to me it comes across as the reverse. I love this website and detest the other one.

Btw, the anythingbutfacebook.com domain doesn’t seem taken yet.

I agree w/Simon – the point is to boost site traffic and help w/promotion.

Sweet!!

BTW, to those worried about identity issues etc, people can’t see that you’re a member unless you actually post on the wall.

Well, I can only see people who have posted on the wall, and no-one else :p

eightbitsprite on April 30, 2011 8:28 PM

So anybody who already liked the site was automatically entered, right?

Any restrictions?

I’ve officially murdered my Creative Zen Vision M with my own bare hands.

Jayson Wills on May 6, 2011 5:10 PM

are you ever going to review the Sansa Fuze+??

Graeme on May 9, 2011 9:57 PM

Don’t be so dramatic about facebook. I don’t love it, but I use it every now and then. You don’t have to “whore out your identity” to use facebook. It has plenty of privacy options for everyone. Use it or lose it.

As others have said, there are good reasons why they are using it for this contest.
