HowTo update firmware U5 ? Problems
 

I just bought a YP-U5J and it seems like a nice mp3-player if it would even work.
If i plug it to my computer it sometimes say "charging" or "USB Connected" or the display stays black

I dont even know if the battery is loading. Sometimes i can access the device and sometimes i can't.

Firmware is 1.33 and i already downloaded 1.52 but i've not found any instruction on how to upgrade this stick to (maybe) get rid of all the problems.

I hope anyone can help me.

If the battery is charging the display should be always on, right?

Now i just had the display flashing "charging" for 30sek, then a short "usb connected" and now the display is off again.
Should i return the stick, because it's broken?

If you press a key it should show again "Charging" or "USB Connected" and then turn display off.
This is correct, to save display lifetime.
So your stick is not broken.

well .. ok ... i charged it on my laptop now and i'll use it today ... but how to upgrade the firmware?

after downloading firmware v1.52, you need to extract the zip file to see YP-U5.ROM

put the YP-U5.rom into root folder of U5 player. Then disconect your player and they will update firmware automaticaly.

Will a firmware-update delete all mp3s on the stick? (lick a format. would do)

Never, it's only upgrading firmware not format your player! :D

I bought a 4gb and I don't see any root folder. Is it "My pack" ?

i cant open the drive letter of my mp3 player then how i can upgrade the firmware

mp3 player is not opning drive letter how i can put the rom file in root folder

how i can download te rom file in player when player in recovery mode...........?

right click > explore :D

if that doesn't work format the drive using DISK Management (right click on my computer then manage)
