Formatted HDD - lost my live ID and Zune account details :( Help!
 

Hey abi's,

I had to re-format my HDD a couple of days ago. In doing so, all my private files and accounts were backed up with 1 exception - my Zune details (and associated US Windows live ID).

I have not been able to remember correctly my windows live ID and password for my US based account. I have also not been able to login to my Zune Software. :(

What I do have is my ZuneHD device itself and copies of the Zune Passes I have (active out to end JAN 2011 or so).

Is there any way I can recover my details from either the device or from my Zune passes. I just cannot remember my windows live ID at all, as it was only used to setup my ZuneHD.

Any ideas GREATLY appreciated !

There does not seem to be a way to contact live.com / hotmail.com support by email. Everything brings me back to;

- Use the live.com forums (requires live.com username to login DOH!)
- Reset password online (requires live.com username to initiate)
- Send email to alternate email (requires live.com username to start)

Cannot find anywhere to email them, or go about trying to remember your damn live.ID. Bugger ! My ZuneHD connects to the marketplace (without my PC which has no zune account configured since the reboot) - so my login details must be in the damn ZuneHD somewhere (Zune account and live.com account).

Anyway of getting them of the device or emaillinks for live.com support would be MOST appreicated ! Willing to send Aussie delicacy VEGEMITE to anyone that helps resolve ;)

KK - I have found a way to register a private forum post for MS staff (with no ID) and have done so. Thanks. Will see if all the info I gave them is enough to verify my ID and reconfirm my live account details.
