Zen V Firmware Download Device not recognised
 

My Zen V has worked fine for years. Today however it opened up into Recovery mode. I tried various options and finished up using Format all and Reload Firmware. I run Vista by the way. I have downloaded the firmware to hard drive. When I connect the Zen V to the computer the computer recognises the device. However, when I try to load the firmware it says device not connected (even though it is).

Can anybody suggest what I might try please otherwise it's a goner.
