What is "Scan Speed" setting ?

What is this ? I can set this on 2x, 4x, 6x, 30x, 60x ... :confused:

Heya...Don't have an iRiver device, but logically the inference is:
- the scan speed setting is how fast songs/video will FF/REW

Just a shot in the dark from a non-iRiver owner, but pretty sure its right ;)
