I already told you about it here, here is the Samsung YP-Z3, kinda successor of the famous Z5 and little brother of the Q3

After reading the manual I can tell you I'm much disappointed as there is almost nothing new: The UI is almost the same as on the Q3 and R0 and the specs too.
The only new things are: dedicated volume keys and MP3HD support. That's all!
No, gapless, no microSD slot, nothing news! We'll see if I'm wrong in my review but ATM I wonder what is better on the Z3 than on the Q3.:confused:

It doesn't posess a micro SD slot? That's disappointing.

Samsung has been disappointing to me lately, TBH. The P3 is the last thing I saw that I was impressed with from them.

The Galaxy Player 4.0 & 5.0 are excellent - IF they ever make it to the USA. This, this is another throwaway player IMO - and if it had a micro SD card slot it would be a nice new addition,...but then it wouldn't be integrated into the players library, now WOULD it???

I've even lost some interest in the Galaxy Player. They're just putting it off for so darn long! Hell, by the time it hits the US, who knows what bigger and better little players will be out there? Most likely an iThing that kicks the crap out of it. BLARGH. Hehe

Well, if that iThing doesn't have at LEAST a 4.3 inch screen it can go to poop!!!

Haha what's with you wanting all your stuff big BIG BIG? I don't think I'd want anything above a 4.3 inch screen. My HD may be a little on the small size, but the small form factor is nice. :)

I was thinking that myself earlier but if you can strive for the best why not. That player looks like shit.

The Samsung Galaxy 5 player is still the ONLY PMP that I really want no matter what. I want that huge screen.If I have no problem carrying a PSP 2000 around and a Cowon O2,then I'd had no problem carrying around a device with a 5 inch screen.

Ok ok sorry,its just hard not to talk about my favorite Samsung DAP :rolleyes: anyways I guess the Z3 would be one of those backup DAPs for just in case the primary one breaks.

This resembles the shit players you find at W-mart/K-mart. I have a Sony player that's small but still useable. This looks as if a couple 12 year olds put it together on thier first day of graphic design school.

70 Euros is $98 Cdn at the moment (using wholesale rates, so probably would be a little higher). Obviously we don't know North American pricing/availability yet. I can probably get a 4GB Clip for $50 Cdn ($60 for certain).

doesn't work for me at all. As I could possibly get two backup Clip+ players for the price of one Z3.

BTW, I have two Z5 players that I like and use regularly, so I'm interested in a player described as a Z5 replacement.

As expected, another complete failure for Samsung - but at least they seem to be done with idiotic touch pads and use real buttons on most of their "new" players again. I'm glad this touch pad fad is more or less over... except for Iriver, who didn't get the message yet.

Dedicated volume buttons: oh wow, good job - if you don't have those, you don't have to create audio players to begin with. I wonder what idiots are in control at the audio division of Samsung. But I guess since they own and run all of South Korea, they don't have to worry about market share details and innovations.

I hope Cowon takes the hint on the next generation i9 (whatever they call it... i8, h9?) and use proper buttons instead of the touchpad.

Correction: the screen is 1.8" 160×128. Back to the future2005 :rolleyes:

Not sure a successor to that line of players is in the works at all. The i6 had two novelties, being the first one with a small 0.8" HDD when large capacity flash memory players were still too expensive, the i7 was the same without the crappy HDD, and the i9 was the slimmest Cowon to date. But if they're smart, they leave it at that and pursue a more modern direction, not trying to build on that flawed control concept anymore. Not saying that they're smart to begin with, but they do hit some jackpots sometimes...

What the fuck? h264 support up to 480p on a screen res like the Cowon X5 or Sansa Clip have? This is highly amusing.
