Any folks tried SDXC 128gb on a RockBoxed Fuze?
64GB still not enough, so I was looking for 128GB, keeping RockBox on my Sansa Fuze (v1). Anyone have tried it? Is it possible?
Searched on the forum, but seems that nobody ask this before? |
Are they even selling 128GB micro SDXC cards yet? I haven't seen them ...
|
Yeah, and the price is it not so high IMO http://www.amazon.com/Lexar-Media-Fl...1052171&sr=8-1

Edit: BTW "soon come" is mainly used by Jamaicans indicating no one knows for sure how soon they'll actually come |
Last I remember there is a SDHC to microSD converter that was sold on dealextreme before, would that work if you used it like that? Connecting the 128GB card to it then inserting it like a microSD card instead? There is a possibility that it'd work.

There are SD -> microSD adapters. You put the big SD card into some sort of 'case' and the data cord in the shape of a mSD card goes into the mSD slot.
As for SDXC, the standard was intended to be backward compatible with SDHC hardware-wise, but devices still need firmware support for it. The bigger question is what about the file system? Either way, it should be possible to make it work, if proper firmware support is there. |

Here's the article about this... article: http://anythingbutipod.com/2009/09/s...-with-adapter/ But, SDXC is still another matter. It would be best to ask Rockbox devs. |
An adapter like this http://anythingbutipod.com/2009/09/sansa-clip-40gb-possible-with-adapter/#more-1011 with the card formatted to FAT32 + Rockbox will probably work.
No one can guarantee it will, but smaller capacity cards work and saratoga says the file limit on a Rockbox player is the limit of a FAT32 file system. That's somewhere in the millions. Quote:
http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/...503.msg195326/ I'll leave it open but saratoga may decide to close this parallel thread. |
Here's the SD to MicroSD/TransFlash card converter module if anyone's interested http://www.dealextreme.com/p/sd-to-m...r-module-27001
Edit: ops just noticed you linked it skip |
