Clip Zip Database Build impossible (Rockbox)

Have a Sansa Clip Zip with Rockbox

and the Database Build is impossible.

I take 3-4 Albums 50-60 MP3 on the Clip Zip. Database Build will done. Add more Mp3 700 Rockbox Show 526 and Freez.

Debug Modus not Work. No Log (After Reset) Rockbox not boot anymore. Database must Delete manually.

The Database Build on an 32gig SD Card is impossible. Freez. Scanning nothing. No Log, no response.

Can i Build the Database on PC?

I honestly don’t understand the post but it seems to me that something is corrupt either in your build or most likely the files you’re loading/have loaded. I have the 8GB clip and 32GB card and haven’t experienced a freeze yet. That said, I would run CHKDSK on the clip and check your files tags to make sure there are no issues (use fb2k or mp3tag).

I have reinstall Rockbox and Firmware more as 3

which issue?-

Original Firmware have no problem with the Tags.

The debug log gets written after every file is read. If you got through 526 files, it will be written 526 times, so I don't see how it could not be there.

Forget it.
Database not work. Playlist on SD Card not work. Freeze over USB Connection. Freeze on play. Freeze anytime, anyplace.
This is a Freezebox on Clip Zip.

Going back to Original Firmware now.

I was going to suggest you do that, it's possible that rockbox isn't for everyone :rolleyes:

It sounds like something is really wrong with your player if you can't access internal or external storage.

Original Firmware work perfekt. SD-Card 32 Gig Class 10 patriot LX Series work perfekt. No problem.

01.01.18 playlist bug ok know issue.
01.01.12 static brust ok know issue.

tested various Rockbox version On Clipzip Rockbox to cause horror.
is possible my Clip Zip a new revision. No idea.

Impossible Building Database. SD-Card building Crash 100%. Show nothing. No Log. Original Firmware no problem. Refreshing 20-30 times no probs. Equal Player or Card.

Building Playlist from SDCard not Work. Play nothing. Patched 01.01.18p bootloader for Rockbox. Firmware issue?

Rockbox freez various times connectet over USB.

are you making your own build? or did you try one of the existing builds?

No Scanning Database with Directory Cache On. Must be Off.

Files with German umlautes not Scann.
Files with () not Scann

Now i can not Play without freez.
Play Song 1, skip, freez Reboot.
Play 1 Song, skip, play song 2, skip, freez. Reboot.

Play another ok, browse back freez, Reboot. Freez anytime anyplace welcome to Freezbox.

60 Files wihout umlaute without ( no playing possible without Freez.
Mp3 make with lame V2 and Foobar from Flac.

All songs Play with Original Firmware without modification.

Sorry this ist Really Stupid to Rebuild a Big MP3 Archive to make at Compatible with a total Buggy Software.

With rockbox the Player is unusable for me.

No one else has reported this problem, so its likely to be a specific problem with your player.

I’d still like to know if you made your own build or not, I’ve messed up one of mine in the past and suffered freeze with my original clip v1 and verified I made a mistake later. Did you try dfkt’s build?

I have not make own Build. No Idea to make that. Not a Expert.

Now i make a Update to Firmware 01.01.18p and Rockbox Bootloader. Nothing. Crash Machine.

The Rockbox Reaction by Skip a Song is slow. Take 5 Second. Original 1 Second.

And the Player is not defect. Original Firmware have 4 Weeks no Freez or Crash.

Now i Install Original 01.01.12p. All Files Play clean.

So it sound like what saratoga stated is most likely the case. I don't know about you but if it were mine I'd send it back for a replacement, personally I couldn't live with the original firmware.

Replacement of a Pefect working Device with Original Firmware. Unlike the little Bugs in Original Firmware.

The Manufacturer Sansdisk not interessed a totally Bugged Software from Internet Freaks. And give me a Replacement for that.

Dont misunderstood. Rockbox is Cool when it Work. I never buy now new Players that then at random work.

And to adapt software-compatible to Hardware and not hardware to Software.:confused:
