Cheap substitute for my rockboxed sansa e200
Once I was a happy guy, I had my sansa e200 with rockbox on it and all my music played fine.
Then happened a bad fact: I ruined from my bike on the jewel and I destroyed its lcd. Now I'm happy no more  To become happy again, I need a new player so I thought to stick with sandisk. Their last "full" player is fuze+ as I see. It has many nice features, and most important to me are: - supports vorbis (via original firmware or rockbox) - it is rockbox friendly - it has a microsdhc slot - it is desiderable that it has a good sound quality - cheap plz, I like the fuze+ because I can find a refurbished one for 40 euros on ebay. I read on the forum that the interface and the touch device are laggy or badly designed, but I wish to ask to people who already has the fuze+ if they are happy with their purchase or if they would screw it as soon as possibile. I'm open to other brands and models too. Thank you! A sad guy who lost his e200 |
Why not get another e200, Sandisk has them at their store e270 http://shop.sandisk.com/store/sdisku...ctID.186361400 they also have the e280R Rhapsody model http://shop.sandisk.com/store/sdisku...ctID.224574200 but I don't like the r series as much.
Edit: BTW either the Sansa Clip or Clip Zip should also fit your needs, it's inexpensive and sounds great. |
e270 is not currently in stock. e250 is still in stock.
Sandisk US ONLY ships to US. So no good for blackshard, who I assume is in Europe, since Euros are mentioned. I sure wish people would provide location info. Steve |

Thanks for all the replies.
I have to say I've been a little rude, since it was my first post here (but I registered some time ago) and I didn't say the proper "Hello!" to the forum, so Hello guys! :D Anyway I greatly appreciate all the replies, I'm from Italy so no refurbished e200 from Sandisk US  I'll take a look to the clip+, but I must admit I prefer a full-size player with a color display. |

That said, if you want a color screen, the clip zip isn't a bad idea either. |
I haven't checked lately, but I'm sure you can still find re-furbished e200 series players on eBay, and other places. I agree it's the best "full-size" player Sandisk has ever put out. Built like the probverbial Sherman tank and has a replaceable battery. Rockbox does indeed work awesomely on them too.
I also like the Clip+, but no album art and the screen is a lttle small, resulting in a lot of scrolling. I can't say I enjoy Rockbox on it as much but I think it's more of the matter of the small screen. |

I've got one e280 I use with the OF and album art is nice to see. But I've got 2 others I use Rockbox on and a theme I created (among others) that do not display the covers. I enjoy them just as much. After all, the main purpose of these things are to play music, right? Anything else is either fluff or optional IMO. :D Oh, and btw I don't care for the Zip either. Right now, mine is collecting dust. |

Hmmm... I had a deeper look into ebay and I found some e2x0 refurbished or even new ones!
The only thing it is preventing me is the fact that a refurbished e250 costs as much as a refurbished fuze+. The fuze+ has the advantage of a much newer hardware, but on the other end I already have some replacement parts for an e2x0 (expecially the battery!). I need to think about... |

If you know someone in the US
Amazon still some E200's http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Sansa-...6377555&sr=1-9 |
Thank you guys.
Your suggestions were really important in my decision. Finally I managed to find an used e250 with a reasonable price on ebay and bought it. |
