Battery Reaches 95% and Stops?
 

I have a weird problem. I leave my fuze v2 with latest build of rockbox charging overnight via ac power and yet when i wake up rockbox only reports 95% battery wtf?

What are you basing the 95% on, the icon? If so, most icon's are never perfect. Try a battery bench test both on RB & OF to see what kind of battery life you are really getting.

basing it off of system>rockbox info.

I don't have the fuze, only other sansa's running rockbox but again it might not be accurate so I'd still test the battery life to see what you're getting.

benching right now. do i have to use it until it dies or can i just use it for an hour or two and then use math to get an estimated battery life?

when I've tested my e260 or clips, I just use it normal with little intervention as I don't fiddle around much other than finding what I wana listen to.

You can do math, but you'll need a complete discharge curve for your player. So unless you've done a battery bench already, you'll need to do one first.

I have always had this with my Fuze v2, even when it was brand spanking new. Only when charging via USB it reaches 100%. It never bothered me though, as the discharge curve isn't linear and these first five percent deplete very quickly anyway (usually within 15-20 minutes or so). It's just part of the Sansa experience, I guess. ;)

Yes, I've always gotten 95-96% full at the most, charging with usb (is there any other normal way to charge it?). This is what the percentage number at the top of the wps screen shows - many themes have a percentage number up there. Doesn't really bother me, as the charge still lasts a really long time.

Also if the player is older batteries will not hold a complete charge. I have a fuze from when they 1st came out and at peak i will only get about 90% charge at max. Eventually rechargeable batters loose there full capacity to hold a full charge.

Needed a full charge today and after 3 hours I knew it was full. I remembered this thread and thought what the heck I’ll look at mine and it said 94%. But like already stated I don’t really care as I know it runs longer than the OF.

I'll add to my previous comment that I rockboxed my fuze 2 immediately after buying it, and had that 94-96% situation from the very start. I had a sansa e280 (rockboxed) before that, and it would top out at 100%, so it's not just a rockbox problem.

With the charger connected. But it goes down by 1 or 2% immediately after disconnecting. The OF exhibits the same behaviour, so this is definitely not something related to Rockbox.

By "charging with usb" I meant charging with a computer's USB port as opposed to charging with a wall charger. When I use my computer I get a full charge without problems.

I don't have a wall charger, so it's always via the computers usb.

Just like to throw in my two cents i have a fuze v2 and its always full for me at 95% after version 3.10 for me. It always outlasts my amp though so its fine.
