Samsung Windows Phone 8 handsets leaked in court filings
Details about the next generation of Windows Phone handsets running Windows Phone 8 are still few and far between, but documents from the Apple v. Samsung trial have revealed a few interesting pieces of information surrounding the South Korean manufacturer’s plans for Windows Phone 8 hardware. Specifically, the “Odyssey” and “Marco” smartphones.
The Odyssey is arguably the better of the two devices, sporting a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 8MP rear facing camera, 2MP front facing camera, and NFC. The Marco, meanwhile, features a 4.0-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, 5MP back facing camera, and 2MP front facing camera. Both devices are powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 processor and support LTE networks.
Obviously, Samsung isn’t ready to reveal the official name of the devices – much less official pricing and exact availability – but they should hit stores sometime during the fourth quarter of 2012. Do you think Samsung has a good lineup so far?
So its basically a Galaxy S3 NA edition running WP8. I guess it makes sense, solid phone, and you save on engineering costs by reusing much of the design.
