Little niggle with my fuze
Hi folks,
A newbie here. My 4 year old clip that i use for work and the gym gave up the ghost the other week, so I decided to buy a Fuze. There is one small problem, and it might just be me, but I usually drag and drop all my music into folders the with the artists name. After doing this, and connecting it back up to add more albulms I noticed that some of the folders I named have reverted back to New Folder with various numbers before them. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong, should I just add the albums with putting them into folders? |
Not sure as I don't have a fuze but it should have folder browsing like the latest clip fw, regardless someone who owns one will correct me. Also it's a good idea to have your tags in order for any player, check it with mp3tag, it's free and works great. If you've never used it before look here for a simplistic tutorial.
Edit: BTW welcome to abi :) |
tony...I think the funny names only happen when using MTP mode (I forget all the details). Were you using MSC mode on the Clip?
Btw, original Fuze or touch screen Fuze+? (just checking, cause not too many original Fuzes out there.) Steve |
I think FreeZ5 is onto it here. These things come form the factory set in the infamous "Auto Defect" mode which defaults to MTP whenever possible. Jacking around with file names, etc. is only one of the many reasons not to use this USB connection mode.
I'd remove everything from the player, switch it to MSC and then transfer everything back to it. Should be smooth sailing from then on. |
Thanks for the replys. It's an original fuze, I heard too many bad things about the fuze+ so ordered an original from the USA, as they are very hard to find here. The mp3 tag would be an issue, as most of my music was dragged from my old itunes folder which, during my use of it always had trouble tagging albums. I'll also switch to MSC, and give it a go.
cheers, Anthony |
