Asteroids v0.9
 

Asteroids is a port of an old arcade game. The goal is to shoot down asteroids using your ship, while avoiding getting hit. Aliens will also appear when a level is almost complete, and they will try to shoot you down.

Controls

• For every 1000 points earned, you gain an extra life
• Press the home button to shoot
• Press the power button to exit
• Touch the screen to move the ship (if you touch near the top-right, the ship will go towards the top right)

Havent been here for a while and I just wanted to check out what has happened the past two years and I'm kinda stunned. There are so many good aps written. Really nice.

If anyone can give me a push in the right direction for coding apps would be great :D

Hello tdid, it is surprising to see someone else here besides me :)

Application development for the ZEN is pretty dead right now, so I don't recommend getting too into it as there is not much of a community for feedback now. However, if you would still like to learn, I would recommend reading this crash course on lua: http://luatut.com/crash_course.html. It is by no means an in-depth tutorial but it should give you enough information to start 'messing around' with lua. I recommend starting with a simple Hello World program followed up by a 'Push the Button' style game (where you simply press a button and something happens). If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
