It should say what firmware version it has on the bottom of the boot screen. The most current version is 2.59 or 3.59. If yours was like mine, it probably has 2.57.

FLAC to MP3 with Foobar

I was messing with Foobar, transcoding from FLAC to v2 vbr new and noticed that my mp3 file sizes are slightly smaller through Foobar than they are when encoding with EAC.

If you've tried it on more than one computer using more than one cable, it might be a defective Clip. Assuming you're still within the warranty period, contact Sandisk and have them replace it.
