I just discovered another difference: I no longer can play aac files. Not that it really mattered, since ogg/vorbis is better. Was nice to have though.

However, I find that Cowon fixing the low precision vorbis decoder to be of more importance than gapless/crossfade....

Can you test a file/encode for me? I can encode a simple 1 min 640x480 x264/vorbis/mkv file to see how well it handles the format and how high a level a profile it can handle.

Cool. But again, what is the profile for those 720p encodes? They could have CABCAC and other HP features that will cause the stuttering, including use reference frames. That even causes stuttering...

No video conversion is what I wanted in the D2, but I can live with that. Seeing as how I needed FM recording, I'm happy with my D2.

I wouldn't necessarily expect it to have this issue, but does it have the tremor decoder issue that some Cowon's have? Like, generate a 30 second 100khz test tone in audacity and hear what happens?
