Perhaps you could do a search on ebay and see what people may be asking for it. I still have mine and it is in excellent shape but the battery is going on it. I have replaced the battery once already.

Sounds more like a pinched wire. I would open it up and make sure that the wires inside are not being pinched. You could even run it with the rear case off and see if the problem goes away.

Well, seeing is believing. There is a plastic support above the hard drive that is not shown in the video. As you can see it is not too difficult to perform.

Well that would depend on how thin thin is. Do you have a subpack and the AC adapter? If so you could try and see if it fires up using the AC adapter. I seriously doubt that is the issue though...
