You can also use an card reader to add files to the MicroSD card.
For MTP mode I cannot tell, cause I'm not using it in MTP.

I own both a Fuze and a Clip+ and I think it's a pain to scroll through...

Nevermind! I just missunderstood your post. I wanted to point you to the rockbox settings. There is no way to ajust the fonts in the original firmware as far as I know.
