Remind me of my Denon HP700, but the 700 has a prominent mid range, and also one of the most clear treble I've heard in DJ phones. I like them better than the ATH...

yes the HD25 clamps hard, it looses with time but still not a coomfortable as the M80. HD25 isolates a great deal more than the M80s because of that.

never heard the TMA1, and I think I never will, it is often reviewed as a dark sound, and I prefer the bright side.

I prefer the HD25 for metal, then hay more bass...

that been said, I like the cowon j3 buds, I think they are fine.
