From what I've heard, yes, the screen is dark. I myself don't really notice it anymore, as I only use my P3. Oh, and I always keep the brightness on "0" to save battery power.

I just copy the whole MUSIC folder from the old MP3 player, and paste it to my new MP3 player (accordingly). Therefore, it all goes at once :)
