I have to admit, the note 2 is probably the best device to "settle" with and would remove the need for a 7inch tablet. With 2GB of RAM and a big battery it wouldn't need to be replaced for ages....

that's why I love mx player, as the volume can go way louder, although another solution I now use is to increase the volume when ripping a dvd to avi file to 200%, works a treat!

I've never had any issues with wifi signal, but I do use mine in landscape mode so the wifi receiver is on top. I've used the video camera on Skype from over 70ft from the router with no issues!

as far as I'm aware, th nexus 4 should work with an otg cable, so you can plug in a card reader or usb key into the phone, not ideal, but it does give you some flexibility for media

my issue with using a phone as a media player is you are going to hammer the battery, then the phone won't work when you need it. The nexus does not have a replaceable battery, which puts me off it....
