Probably an LCD/hardware issue. My Fuze doesn't have this but, strangely, my PSP has a pinkish tint on the left side of the screen, which could have a similar cause. I've been wondering about this...

That's the nature of rechargeable batteries: they discharge even when not in use. But 2-3 hours battery life is really bad--it's close to the end of its useful life. At least the battery is easy...
