I have not tried an updated build for a while now, but there is definitely an issue with USB mounting while on Rockbox. It only works around 10% of the time. Rest of the time it hangs or shows a stop...

I understand this is not exactly what you are looking for, but won't you be better off using Database instead of the file viewer? That way you can browse everything as one list by id3 tags.
