Browsing Creative ZEN music folder in XP Explorer

Has anyone succeeded in doing this on the ZEN 8GB or 16Gb models? The only unit I have found on which it works is a 2Gb (containing mp3s). On largers, the folder shows (incorrectly) as blank.

Actually now I wonder if this device even has an MTP mode. Other uers have reported an MSC mode and the User Guide offers no option to change.

Testing was with 320kbps WMAs.

EDIT: and with the as-shipped firmware VER 1 .19 EU-00-JD2

Good:

1 Looks and feels nice.

2 Has MSC mode as well as (default) MTP.

I can only say that having tried many programs inc. WMP, MediaMonkey and JR Media Jukebox for uploading tracks with playlists on four ZENs of various firmwares, the result has always been wonkiness...

Has anyone found the ZEN MX to have better MTP than the ZEN? On ZEN, different firmware and all four units here mess-up on file transfer - adding tracks without first a format corrupts metadata...

listing filepaths of MTP device

In case it helps anyone like me debugging MTP upload, I have found the above can be achieved with JRiver Media Jukebox - with the filename column showing, select all tracks and press CTRL+C.
