If you try this with high quality speakers then you shouldn't notice any noise due to interference. Very common with cheap speakers and some factory car audio.

I agree with the OP. It should be on the right side. Most people are right handed and it is uncomfortable to reach the left side with the right hand.

Theres an easier way. Connect the zune HD to the speakers AUX and your done!
