Yeah, mine feels very light. It's especially weird coming from a click-wheel iPod or if you're used to the way high end video or audio equipment knobs feel. It's thin plastic and it's affordable.

I have had only one problem with freezing up, and that was because I was scrubbing through video like crazy. I say return it. It shouldn't freeze up at all, but definitely not on audio.
