guys, i just recently bought this magnificent gadget...
now i want to update the firmware. from what i see in this thread http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=32690 there's no tutorial. could you help me how to do it? oh, CMIIW, but we just need to install the latest one, right? no need to download and install all previous firmware? thanks for the answer... |

Download the latest firmware (1.23) in the sticked All Samsung Firmwares thread.
Unzip the folder. And then put the YP-M1.rom file at the root of your M1

The folder where the "music" "shared data" "video" ecc. folders are... Just put the file in that folder and start the player

Just two notes for people updating their firmware:
a) during the update the player shows "copy firmware", don't get confused, it means "player is copying firmare". (took me two resets until I got it) b) my player was delivered with a firmware patch in the root directory that wasn't applied until I copyed the 1.35 patch with a different name into the root. After that I renamed the 1.35 patch back to YP_M1.rom and it applied too. I don't know whether you have to copy a firmware patch or just any file to the player to make it recognise the first patch, just try if you have the same issue. |
