Default Clip+ theme updated: YellowBarDynamic-Unicode

Sometime in the last 2 years Rockbox improved the way skin memory usage is handled and as a result I could improve a WPS I made and include an FMS without hitting memory limits on the Clip+.

Some features that make it unique:
  • sleep timer and time-of-day clock
  • large volume-is-changing screen
  • battery % and estimated battery life time
  • current playlist name if you're using a playlist file
  • database info: your own track rating, the auto-calcuated rating, track play count (it's in the upper right corner next to the weird symbol)
  • files without ID3 tags: displays file name if no title; displays folder name if no artist.
  • file technical info: codec, bitrate, frequency
  • Language support: Track title has been tested to be able to display in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Cyrillic. Artist and Album can display in the same but not Arabic.
Features that cater to audio books:
  • tickmarks on the progress bar
  • track length, remaining time, elapsed time can display up to 9:59:59 without overlapping other parts of the screen.
The FMS's unique features (similar to the WPS's):
  • sleep timer and time-of-day clock
  • battery % and estimated battery life time
  • large visual indicator of signal strength
  • large preset's name and current frequency display

Fixed issues from the older version:
  • progress bar's size is maximized across the top of the screen.
  • removed the peak meter when button-hold is enabled (I use a version that keeps this feature, but I have a feeling most other people don't like it).
  • reorganized information display to minimize how often the screen changes.
  • volume is visible all the time now.
  • added some icons to replace text (button-hold indicator, sleep timer indicator, memory access indicator, an icon for "track played count" rather than writing "Plays: ")
  • Added an FMS
  • Added a popup screen to prominently display the volume while you're changing the volume

Rockbox fixed the %?if()<> conditional not being parsed properly. Now this theme is able to have a variable sized progress bar. Now it's maximized no matter the track's elapsed or remaining time.

You need a Rockbox version greater than 3.11.2 for the fix to the %?if()<> problem. At the time of this posting, you'll have to use a daily development build from
