Hi,
This post is first for Martin but if someone has some good experience with line-in recordings please tell us here. Martin, your review about the Cowon X5 is excellent. In fact I had just received my X5L when I've found your review. I am not disappointed at all, the sound is awesome Now I would go further by recording live music. I have read many people having troubles with low sound with line in recording. As you say in your review that you have good results, could you tell what external microphone you use ? With preamp ? Regards, have a nice week-end David Last edited by Localhero; 04-15-2007 at 02:35 AM. |

Good thing you bumped that thread.. I totally overlooked it.
![]() I don't use any microphone, I usually record via the tape-out of a HQ mixing board (Mackie 1604). You definitely need a powered mic for recording through the line-in. Unpowered mics are far too weak for any line-level input (not only on the X5, but in general). Look at this thread: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=12734 - this mic/preamp seems to be quite decent, and it doesn't cost much. Martin
