I've recently bought this player and overall I am very pleased with it. So far though, I can only tune in radio stations using the autoscan function. The player will store 30 stations but it stores many spots on the dial that are just static.
If there are, say, 5 stations I want to listen to, they are spread out among the 30 programmed spots and to scroll between them you have to cover the gaps.In other words, the stations may be at positions 1, 2, 8, 15 and 23 out of 30. On my radio at home, I can program any station I want in any order I want as programs 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. So my question is - can I manually program radio stations? Or are we stuck with this autoscan function? If so, that is the only disappointment I have with this player. It makes it seem like the radio feature is an afterthought. I hope someone can tell me how to custom tune the radio. |

Ok here is how to work the radio, and the answer to your question
im going to start from the top: 1- so you turn on your player and in the main menu select FM radio. 2- then pay attention to the screen, you will see something like: FM 102.7 MHZ 3- ... now, right below that you can either see or not see the "preset option", that is, ex: PRESET 1/32. you can switch between manual scan and preset by pushing the PLAY button what you want to do is: if the "preset 1/23" (just an example, your will vary) push the PLAY button to switch to manual scan manually tune to the station you want now press and hold the BACK button a menu will appear, you want to "save as preset", then if you want, you can then proceed to "name preset and give it a name" now whenever you want to listen to the radio just push play so it shows the presets and then choose you station. |

That worked, thanks! I don't think I would have figured that out myself and it's not in my manual. Also it's nice to know that it's designed to do this, and not an afterthought feature.

it took me a while to figure it out myself, it is IN the manual, but is buried.... the manual mentions that if you push and hold the BACK button a options menu appears.
also , if you want to select a bacground for your player 1- just load pictures 2- when viewing the one you want for wallpaper, just press and hold the BACK button and scroll down to set as wallpaper. dude, the zen v is a very cool unit. better than a iPod nano. |
