Well i bought creative Zen V plus 2 GB. And everything is ok (charging battery is soo fuc**ng long!?), and with creative in-ear headphones http://www.creative.com/products/pro...&product=11397 sound is perfect!
But with normal player in-ear and Sony normal headphones (not in-ear) sound is toooo low! I need more volume! Is there any fix-hack-custom firmware, like this http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archi...mit-unlock.php - etc to get more gain in my normal headphones!? If that is posible - then zen V is ipod nano killer. If is not posible - then zen V plus is silent crap !

And another thing. I have st lab A8001 http://www.sunsway.com.hk/photo/a8-2.jpg - bought for 30 euros. Zen V plus cost 150 euros (5x - 5X!) and st lab is much louder! WTF!?

Interesting...name.
Umm - Anyways, you mentioned Euros, so I assume you live in Europe, which would mean your player has European-version firmware (you can verify this by bringing up your player's information page and looking at the firmware version. If it ends with an "e", then you have European firmware. In accordance with EU laws, your player has its maximum volume capped. You can remove this cap by completely removing your player's firmware, then installing firmware from the Creative US site.

![]() ![]() ![]() That solve the problem! My new zen is 30% louder - wow! For zen v plus owner : try this custom EQ serrings: 80-9 , 250-1, 1k-0 , 4k-11 , 13k-12, on sony MDR-G42LP headphones, then rammstein - du hast - volume on max - when gitar riff is happend - your head will explode ! You MUST completely remove your player's european crappy firmware, before instal usa firmware! Explanation how to do this is here: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ead.php?t=6714Keep good work.. |

Hi,
Sorry to be a pain but I'd like to do this and, despite considering myself okay with technology, I'd like to ask a few questions. First of all...would this interfere with the warranty at all? I have no idea about warranties or even whether my player is still under warranty...huh, I'll check that out actually! Secondly, the only available firmware from the US site says it's an update...from what I know of firmware, it'll actually be a completely separate program as you can't 'add-on' to firmware...am I right in that? I don't want to delete the firmware then find out I can't put the new one on! Finally, I assume it deletes the music in the library. It's not a concern, it's just that when I updated the firmware for my old Zen Xtra, I wasn't paying attention and it came as some surprise that all my files had gone! Thanks for any help you can give and hopefully you can rectify my painful ignorance ![]() Tom |

Firstly - dunno!
Secondly - it replaces the old firmware AFAIK. Thirdly - it leaves content intact on ZV+ Note the comments from ZenChick & 'Bite My...' about completely removing firmware. The 'e' seems to be sticky - just upgrading with a non-european FW leaves the 'e' in place in the reported version string of the new FW. |
