Question Clix2 W/O Software?

I am looking to purchase a new MP3 player and I am looking for a MP3 player that will be recognized as an external drive or flash device which will simply allow me to drag and drop music into the player w/o using some software.

I only use Linux at home and work so installing the manufacturer transfer software is something I can't do nor would I even bother if I was using a supported OS.

Can anyone please tell me if I can transfer music to the Clix2 w.o using software?

Thanks so much!

Yes you can set the clix2 to MSC mode meaning it will work with any modern OS.

Thank you. Do you recommend the Clix2 or is there some others I should look at as well?

some competitors to look at are the Meizu M6 'Miniplayer' and the Cowon D2.

I really like the clix2... the interface is great and the features are thorough... and the screen is probably the best i have seen on an MP3 player... you need to see it in person... def one of my favorites...

The miniplayer is very nice as well, but the screen doesnt look as nice and the touch pad is finicky...

The D2 is great for its expansion capabilites (SDHC slot) but the touch screen makes it an annoying choice for a music player...

my pick out of the three would be the clix2... i have each of them... well the D2 has been passed to dfkt =)

Hi EnzoTen,

Those are the three DAP's that I'm trying to choose from, plus the iriver x20. My g/f's birthday is 7/26/2007 so it looks like the clix2 8GB won't be available by then, which is why I threw in the x20 for consideration. Do you know if you can bookmark with either the iriver clix2, x20 or Meizu M6? I know you can with the Cown D2. She listens to audiobooks in mp3 format, so it's important to be able to get to the spot where she left off.

Thanks!
