Is there a hidden option somewhere in the depths of the V/V+ options that I haven't seen where it'll wake (light the screen, and begin idle timer [10 secs]) every time the song ends/changes? I want to set it up in my car, but there's no point in showcasing it if all it's going to do is it there. I guess I could turn the idle timer OFF and set the brightness really really low.

I am not aware of such a setting. When I use mine in our cars I just let it play and focus on driving while I listen. I'd see turning on the screen for each song as a distraction and unnecessary power drain. I suppose a passenger could click the joystick to turn on the screen if they wanted to see the song title. I usually recognize the music, podcast or book I've loaded on the player.

As far as I know, the only DAP's that do this are Sony's new Video Walkmans (NVW-610 and NVW-810). These players have an option that activates the Now Playing screen every time a new song begins. It would be great if other companies adopted this feature, but I doubt that this will happen any time soon...
