Default Is the Zen really function over form?

There are some extremely impressed reviews out there (cnet, here, pocket-lint) on the look and feel of the Zen, I have however recently witnessed a few reviews on the web that state the form factor of the Zen is actually rather cheap looking. They state that picking it is a choice of 'function over form', especially when compared to the form factor of Apple's wares (though I have never understood the appeal of the form factor of their stuff).

But I do wish to enquire as to the specifics of the form factor for the Zen (no stores around here have it to show). Is it cheap-looking in person? Does it feel plasticky (you know, in that really bad way)? What about the feel of the buttons? From viewing it online I have to say it looks quite dandy but then again some things do turn out to be a little different when you have it in your hands...

In any case, any answers will be much appreciated.

The zen series have always had a toy-feel to them. The Zen actually looks quite like the photos, gloss black with sophisticated-looking interface. The only cheap-looking bit is the ok button in the middle of the square, it would have looked boss in silver. Some two-toning would have been nice, and lighting keys would have been fantastic.

it doesnt look or feel cheap.

I'm chiming in to say it does not look or feel cheap either.

And, yes, it does look exactly how it looks online.
