These transmitters use the normal headphone 3.5mm plug output, not some special iPod or Zune connector. Therefore they work with every player available.

This one works well with the Pilot, it charges and plays and the sound quality is quite good as I use it everyday.

Well, they all use FM radio, which is pretty sub-par. The FCC will only allow them to be minimally powerful so as to not interfere with any radio stations or require an FCC license. I've not heard any that sound outstanding, but that's not to say they are all the same. Honestly, I would save my money and go with a brand you've heard of other than Monster, who almost universally over charge.

The FM transmitter itself will require power and probably won't have pass-through for connected devices. I've seen some that do, but I believe they were packaged with the products (portable DVD players, for example). As suggested, any charger designed to work with the Motorola phones should work (Mini USB is the key, really).

Edit: Well there you go, Dynex and Insignia... a match made in Best Buy heaven... =)

Although it is more expensive, you could get a bluetooth kit in your car like the Parrot mk6100. It will let you connect your cell phone and the Pilot. The audio quality will be much better than you will be able to get from an FM adapter, and for me it works from anywhere in your car without skipping. You will also be able to use the Parrot to wirelessly control the playback on the Pilot with AVRCP.

A line in player would be cheaper, and have even better sound quality...

Well, a2dp can use at least 700 kbps, although it usually doesn't. I really havn't noticed any reduced quality using a2dp from the Pilot to the Parrot. There are some that might notice a difference with lossless codecs, but most wouldn't be able to tell.
