Pilot 8GB - for Digitaldel?
There are limitations in total number of PLAYABLE media files including recording, video and audible supported by Insignia players. Pilot - NS-4V24/NS-8V24 - total number files 2,000 (8GB internal memory) Of course 2,000 still isn't enough for a 8Gb Flash player. Hopefully Insiognia will fix this with their next firmware update. Thanks |

I very much agree.

Is this a firmware limitation, or just the approximate number of songs capacity shown on the Pilot's packaging?

Not sure about the Pilot, but this is a firmware limitation set on the NS-DVxG (Insignia Video) series...

It took some doing (buying an SD card), but I now have 2015 files showing up in my Play All music list. What a relief! I am really enjoying this player.

I was hoping to report back on this because I thought I surely surpassed the 2,000 file limit with an additional gig in the SD slot. No dice. 1567. I guess I had too many movie files on there. Thanks for the info, ThatTree.

Yes, I have run into a 2000 file limit in MTP mode. In MSC I was able to get more.

I have about 2,600 tracks in MTP mode right now on my Pilot.

I believe the current line of thought is that there is a 3,000 file limit for the Pilot series (vs. 2,000 for the Insignia Video). There has been some discussion of this over at the DAPreview forums.
